Our Short Trip to Cavtat, Croatia

Cavtat, Croatia
Cavtat, Croatia

Cavtat is the ancient city of Croatia, located to the south-east of Dubrovnik on the Adriatic coast. It’s a former Greek and Roman colony. In the early 7th century AD the city was invaded by Avars and Slavs and since then has  belonged to the Slavic state Travunia. Nowadays Cavtat is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Croatia.

We visited Cavtat on the way back from Čilipi. I loved this town. Beautiful streets, architecture, wonderful nature, as elsewhere in Croatia. This is a great place for walking. If you get hungry – on the main street you will find many cozy cafes, restaurants, serving local and Italian cuisine.
