We went to Krabi for a couple of days. Along with beautiful beaches and small islands we visited the Emerald Pool. It’s a wonderful place worth a visit! The entrance fee is 20 baht for locals and 200 baht ($6) for foreigners… a rather big difference I’d say! Anyway it didn’t stop us and we didn’t regret it.
The Emerald Pool is located in fertile rainforest jungle with high trees. The water in the pool changes its colour during the day according to the light and time. If you’d like to see the real emerald colour, you should come very early in the morning.
We loved this place! Apart from bathing in the pool you can enjoy walking along well kept paths, where you will find shelter from the hot sun in the shade of the trees. Just stroll following the signs, breathe the humid, cool, fresh air. Listen to the constant chirring of crickets and frogs croaking, pamper your eyes with the beauty of exotic flowers and thousand shades of green. Feel the jungle the way it is!
Don’t overlook the Blue Pool. You can’t swim in it though. But it’s still worth seeing.

this looks really nice. shame there are so many other people though. is it always that busy?
Alyona says
Well..we’ve been there during weekends, most of the people were locals. I guess during the work week there it is a bit less crowded 🙂

What is better to visit Krabi or KO samui?Thank you in advance)
Alyona says
Hi Mary! Thanks for your comment. Please refer to this post and this one. You will find more information and comments which hopefully will help you to make a decision. It’s a bit difficult to suggest since everybody has different preferences. I personally would go again to Koh Samui, not to Krabi. Though Krabi is a great place as well. Anyways, please check out those links and I am sure you will make up your mind. Happy travels!

Hi Fatema! I would personally go to Koh Samui. It’s very beautiful!
Neha says
Hi Alyona, Is 2 day each enough for Karabi and Koh Samui?
Alyona says
Hi Neha, in my opinion 2 days in Samui is not enough! Two days in Krabi is ok, though of course you can easily spend there many more, as there are a lot of islands to see around. But Koh Samui needs at least 5 days I think.

Hi Sahil, there are lots of places in the South of Thailand to visit, many beaches and islands. If you are not interested in Koh Phangan, head to Samui 🙂
