Top 5 Must Do Things in Dubrovnik

Updated Sep 16, 2013 (first published Nov 2012) - 6 Comments

Check out Top 5 Must Do Things in Dubrovnik!

  1. Visit the Old City. Take a walk through the oldest and most famous street in Dubrovnik – Stradun.
  2. Climb Mount Srđ (413m), which offers a magnificent view of Dubrovnik. You can get to the top of the mountain on foot (it takes about 90 minutes), or you can use the cable car. The round-trip ticket will cost you 10 euros.
  3. Explore the stunning beaches of Dubrovnik. Bathe in the fresh clear Adriatic Sea.
  4. Visit Lokrum – a beautiful island just a few meters away from Dubrovnik. The price of a return ticket is 7.5 euros. We were delighted with this island! I could have stayed there for a long time and didn’t want to come back!
  5. Visit Lopud. A beautiful island with wonderful nature. You can reach the island by a ferry which departs from the port of Gruž. This trip will take 55 minutes. Unfortunately I can not remember the price of the ticket, but roughly it was 5 euros round trip. Here you can find a schedule of ferries of the port Gruž.

I would definitely explore the beach 😉 and would climb Mount Srđ (413m). I believe the view of Dubrovnik is magnificent. I would have a nice 90 minute hike :), no cable cars!

Loved Dubrovnik. Was there this summer. Wish I had hiked the mountain…although the cable car was also worth it, if nothing else, for the wonderful view. I would also recommend getting out for a kayak. We didn’t stop on Lokrum, but kayaked around it and had lunch in a cove before kayaking back. Great way to spend part of the day. Did you make it out to see the Love Locks? The wall is only just new….but the location high above the sea is breathtaking!

Hey, Anita! Thank you for your comment! We didn’t see those Love Locks, unfortunately. I can imagine how beautiful it is there! Kayaking is great, I agree! 🙂
