VIsiting Plaza de España

Updated Nov 14, 2012 (first published Oct 2012) - Leave a Comment

Be sure to visit the Plaza de España and the Maria Luisa Gardens! In the years 1929 -1930 the Iberian-American Exhibition was held in the city park of Maria Luisa in Seville. The Central Palace with its 82 meter high towers at the corners still stand at the semicircular Spanish Square. Plaza de España is wonderful during the day and in the night. In the day time you can rent a boat and have a nice ride in the ponds of the Spanish Square.

The Park of Maria Luisa was a part of the Royal gardens of San Telmo in the 19th century. At the end of the century the gardens were given to the city by Maria Luisa. This is a very beautiful place with subtle Arabic features, fountains and a small waterfall. A walk through the Gardens and the Plaza de España will leave vivid impressions of the beautiful city of Seville!
